Facilities

Premises

Diamould has five facilities situated in Barrow-in-Furness with an overall floor area of 40,000 square feet.

New Product Development:

Our engineers utilise a range of advanced software packages to aid the design and development process, including ProEngineer (Mechanica), SLIM FEA, AutoCAD 2005 and MoldFlow analysis. Diamould has an advanced prototype test facility with state of the art test equipment to further enhance the New Product Development process.

Manufacturing:

Our Manufacturing process is controlled by Resource Management software (i.e.. an Enterprise Resource Planning [ERP] system), which covers all activities from Sales Order Processing, through to Dispatch and Invoicing.  This is a fully integrated suite of modules and provides full batch traceability & movement histories, automatically re-schedules activities and manages Bills of Materials, build methods and resources

Manufacturing Capability:

Diamould has the capability to manufacture all the components of its product, although for large quantity batches approved sub contractors are used. The manufacturing facility includes:-

Machine Shop:

Equipped with an extensive range of multi axis CNC and Conventional machinery capable of machining the complete range of materials used in the Diamould products, these include Inconel, super Duplex and Stainless Steel.

Fitting and Test:

Assembly of the Diamould connector range is performed in clean assembly conditions to ensure trouble free use. All subsea and downhole products are subjected to rigorous factory acceptance tests in conditions exceeding operating conditions to ensure satisfactory performance.

Testing Facility:

Diamould has the facilities to carry out pressure testing up to pressure of 30,000 psi with the capability to heat and cool test vessels. A computer  controlled environmental chamber can simulate operating temperature from -40°C  to +200°C.
High voltage test facilities can test equipment up to 100Kv AC and 40Kv DC. State of the art Partial Discharge test equipment is used to assure the integrity of all power products.

Materials Laboratory:

The Materials Laboratory specialises in polymer analysis and tests can be undertaken in accordance with many National and International standards.  Testing services such as rheometry, hardness testing, tensile testing, tear testing and electrical testing can all be undertaken in our temperature controlled Laboratory.  The performance of materials in contact with their intended service environment can be assessed through accelerated ageing and durability tests.
